(PCM) Nearly a decade after Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, the visionary director has finally decided to return to the franchise and bring JRR Tolkien’s beloved book, The Hobbit to the big screen. Soon after filming begun, news broke that Jackson planned to not only break the story into 2 parts, but will also create a third installment and extend the story, supposedly using the authors companion notes as the basis of the story. We also found out that the films would be shooting back-to-back-to-back, and set to be released a year apart.
Its now been almost a year since the first installment of Jackson’s new trilogy was released, and the marketing for part 2 is underway. Picking up where the first film left off, The Hobbit: The desolation of Smaug continues to follow our favorite hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, and his quest to help the dwarves reclaim their home. But their is still many dangers ahead, but none more challenging then the enormous dragon known as Smaug. Check out the trailer below!
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is set to hit theaters December 13th, 2013.
