(PCM) The new Discovery Channel show “Eaten Alive” will feature wildlife filmmaker Paul Rosolie being literally “eaten alive” by an anaconda while the entire experience is filmed for the show. Rosolie will be wearing a protective suit which will allow him to be swallowed whole by the anaconda. What make’s “Eaten Alive” a bit different from other Discovery Channel series is that it was taped rather than recorded live. There has been confirmation from Discovery Channel that Rosolie did survive the stunt, and that the snake appears to be just fine as well. When news of the show first broke, many animal rights activists including PETA were concerned claiming that Rosolie’s stunt was a form of animal cruelty, as it could pose serious health risks to the snake. Rosolie spoke out to activists in an attempt to calm their concerns posting on Twitter: “If u know me – I would never hurt a living thing. But you’ll have to watch #EatenAlive to find out how it goes down!” Seems more like a plug for the show and less about addressing PETA’s concerns, but I have to say I am mildly intrigued to see how this stunt actually went down.
